You don't have to navigate this alone
Whether you're just starting to notice these shifts or you're years past menopause, this stage of life can be confusing and easy to have dismissed. You deserve care that makes sense of it all. You might be noticing:
Hot flashes and night sweats that disrupt your sleep or leave you feeling drained
Mood changes — feeling more irritable, anxious, or emotionally sensitive than usual
Brain fog or forgetfulness that makes it hard to focus or find the right words
Changes in your cycle — heavier, lighter, more frequent, or suddenly unpredictable
Trouble sleeping, even if you've never had sleep issues before
Low energy or fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
Changes in libido or discomfort during intimacy
Weight gain, especially around the belly, despite no major changes in habits
Hair thinning or skin changes you weren't expecting
Joint pain, body aches, or a general sense of stiffness
Increased sensitivity to stress or feeling overwhelmed more easily
Hi, I'm Sarah, and this stage of life is personal to me.
I'm 43, and the way perimenopause first showed up for me was sleep — waking consistently at 3am, mind already running through the day's to-do list, no matter how tired I was. [Read my full story →]
I created Menopause in the Junction because I saw a need: women deserve care that's local, personalized, and rooted in both science and respect for their lived experience.
I work with women in perimenopause and menopause who want someone to take the time to look at everything together: hormones, sleep, mood, metabolism, and heart and bone health. When it's the right fit, that includes prescribing hormone therapy.
You deserve care that's local, personal, and rooted in both science and your own experience.
What I help with
Areas of focus
Hot flashes, brain fog, low libido, poor sleep, or simply not feeling like yourself: you don't have to push through it.
perimenopause & menopause
Cycle changes, hot flashes, mood shifts, brain fog and low libido, looked at in the context of your whole health.
hormone therapy
Natural-first, not natural-only. Bioidentical hormone therapy when it fits your body, history and goals, alongside nutrition and lifestyle.
sleep
3am wake-ups are rarely one thing. We look at hormones, stress, thyroid and daily habits, and use CBT-I, a structured, evidence-based approach to insomnia.
Heart, metabolism & bone
Midlife is a good time to look ahead, so cardiovascular, metabolic and bone health are part of every plan.
My approach
How I work
Evidence-informed
Labs, data and current Menopause Society guidelines guide every recommendation.
Visits run 60 to 90 minutes and cover hormones, metabolic and heart health, bone health, mood and sleep together, not one symptom in isolation.
Collaborative
You're involved in every decision. Prefer not to test? We'll build a plan around your symptoms and history.
Natural-first, not natural-only
Nutrition, lifestyle and bioidentical hormones, in whatever combination fits.
Sustainable
No extreme protocols, just realistic plans that hold up in a busy life.

Why menopause-specific certification matters:
The Menopause Society (NAMS) is the leading professional authority on menopause medicine in North America, and its Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential represents specialized, rigorous training beyond what most practitioners — naturopathic or conventional — receive in general practice. It means staying current on the latest evidence-based guidelines for hormone therapy, symptom management, and the health risks that come with this transition, from bone density to cardiovascular health.
Relatively few practitioners in any field hold this certification. I'm a NAMS Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), bringing this specialized layer of training to the naturopathic care I provide.
I work with women who are:
In early perimenopause, sensing something is changing but unsure what
In late perimenopause or menopause, dealing with symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, sleep issues, or vaginal dryness
Years after menopause, still struggling with lingering symptoms, changes in weight or bone health, or wanting support for healthy aging
Curious or cautious about BHRT — whether you're using it, considering it, or unsure if it's right for you
Not using hormones, but looking for natural ways to feel better and stay healthy long-term
If you're feeling lost in the "is this normal?" stage, or just want a thoughtful, personalized approach to your hormones and health, you're in the right place.
